The course is divided into theoretical parts and different practical trainings.
Part I – Quick start with SPIS
- Installation of the SPIS software
- Quick demonstration on a simplified GEO case
Part II – Simple example of modelling in large Debye length conditions (i.e. GEO)
- Practical work: Use of SPIS by the students
Part III – Installation and advanced settings
New users, space environment experts and space systems engineers.
The aim is to make the SPIS’s user autonomous regarding canonical cases at the issue of the training. For new user, the objective of this course is to introduce SPIS and make them able to run basic simulations. For experimented users, this training is the occasion to review the fundamental principles and functions of the software.
Basic knowledge in a plasma physics, space environment and scientific computing are pre-required for this training.
